Description

This Shrimp and Turkey Sausage Pasta is a hearty, flavor-packed dinner perfect for busy nights! Tender shrimp and smoky turkey sausage are tossed with pasta and a savory sauce for a delicious, easy meal the whole family will love.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb penne pasta (or your preferred pasta)

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

  • 2 smoked turkey sausages, sliced (or turkey Andouille sausage for extra spice)

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 1 small onion, diced

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 red bell pepper, diced

  • 1 cup heavy cream (or a lighter cream alternative)

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional for heat)

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

  • Add the shrimp and cook for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.

  • In the same skillet, add the sliced turkey sausage and cook until browned.

  • Add the diced onion, garlic, and red bell pepper; sauté until softened.

  • Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.

  • Add the Parmesan cheese, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  • Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet, then toss in the pasta until fully coated in the sauce.

  • Garnish with fresh parsley and more Parmesan before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to swap penne with fettuccine, rigatoni, or even whole-wheat pasta.

  • Add spinach or mushrooms for an extra veggie boost!

  • Adjust the spice level by increasing or omitting the red pepper flakes.
