Description

This Shredded Chicken Gravy on Mashed Potatoes is a hearty and comforting crockpot meal made with tender chicken smothered in rich, savory gravy and served over creamy mashed potatoes. Perfect for busy weeknights or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup

  • 2 cans water

  • 2 packets chicken gravy mix

  • 2 packs chicken breasts

  • Garlic powder, salt, and pepper (to taste)

  • Instant mashed potatoes (prepared according to package instructions)

  • Rolls (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Gravy:
In the crockpot, mix cream of chicken soup, water, and chicken gravy packets until smooth.

  2. Season the Chicken:
Season chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Place into the crockpot.

  3. Cook:
Cover and cook on low for 7–8 hours, until chicken is fork-tender.

  4. Shred the Chicken:
Remove chicken, shred with two forks, then return to the crockpot and stir into the gravy.

  5. Serve:
Spoon hot shredded chicken and gravy over mashed potatoes. Serve with warm rolls if desired.

Notes

  • Use leftover or rotisserie chicken for a quicker version.

  • Add peas or corn to the gravy for a complete meal.

  • Can be served over rice or biscuits as an alternative to mashed potatoes.
