Description

These Savory French Dip Biscuits pack all the flavor of a French dip sandwich into a fluffy, golden biscuit. Filled with tender roast beef, melted Swiss cheese, and optional caramelized onions, they’re the ultimate appetizer or game-day snack!

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough

  • 1/2 lb roast beef, thinly sliced

  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese

  • 1/4 cup caramelized onions (optional)

  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional, for extra tang)

  • 1 tablespoon melted butter

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 packet au jus gravy mix (for dipping)

  • 1 1/2 cups water (for au jus, or as directed on packet)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  • Flatten each biscuit into a 4-5 inch circle on a floured surface.

  • In the center of each dough round, layer roast beef, Swiss cheese, and a spoonful of caramelized onions (if using).

  • Add a dab of Dijon mustard if desired. Fold dough over filling and pinch to seal into a ball.

  • Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.

  • Brush tops with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder.

  • Bake for 15–18 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.

  • While biscuits bake, prepare au jus gravy according to package directions.

  • Serve warm biscuits with a side of au jus for dipping.

Notes

  • Can substitute provolone or mozzarella for Swiss.

  • Great as a party snack or with a side salad for a quick meal.

  • Make mini versions with smaller biscuits for appetizers.
