-
1 cup granulated sugar
-
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese
-
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
3/4 cup dark chocolate chips
For the Orange Glaze:
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
-
Zest of 1 orange
Instructions
-
Prepare the Dough:
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, beat the sugar, butter, and orange zest until light and fluffy. Add the egg, ricotta cheese, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, then fold in the chocolate chips. -
Bake the Cookies:
Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack. -
Make the Glaze:
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth. -
Glaze the Cookies:
Once the cookies are completely cooled, spoon the glaze over the tops or dip each cookie into the glaze. Allow the glaze to set before serving.
Notes
-
For an extra festive touch, sprinkle a few extra chocolate chips on top of the glaze while it’s still wet.
-
Cookies stay soft for days — store in an airtight container at room temperature.
-
You can substitute semi-sweet chocolate chips for dark chocolate if preferred.
