Description

These Nun’s Puffs are light, airy, and irresistibly crisp on the outside with a soft, custardy center. Made from a simple pâte à choux dough, they’re baked in muffin tins, sprinkled with sugar, and best enjoyed warm with honey or whipped cream. A charming old-fashioned treat with a modern twist! Keywords: nun’s puffs, easy pastry recipe, honey puffs, choux muffin puffs

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Generously grease a 12-cup muffin tin.

  2. Make the Dough:
In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add milk and bring to a low boil.
Add all the flour at once and stir vigorously with a wooden spoon until the dough pulls away from the sides and forms a ball.
Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes.

  3. Incorporate Eggs:
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  4. Bake:
Divide dough evenly among the muffin cups. Sprinkle tops with sugar for extra crunch.
Bake for 30 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Do not open the oven door during baking.

  5. Serve:
Enjoy warm, drizzled with honey. Top with whipped cream or fresh fruit if desired.

Notes

For crispier puffs, let them sit in the warm oven (turned off) for 5 extra minutes after baking.

Best served fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven.
