Ingredients
For the Bread Pudding:

6 cups day-old bread, cubed (French or brioche)

2 1/2 cups whole milk

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1 cup granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg

1/2 cup chopped pecans (optional)
For the Vanilla Sauce:

1 cup milk

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup granulated sugar

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons butter

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt
Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and milk. Let sit for 10 minutes.

Stir in melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and pecans. Mix thoroughly.

Pour mixture into prepared baking dish. Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden brown and set.
