Ingredients
For the Cake:

2 cups all-purpose flour

2 cups granulated sugar

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tsp baking powder

1 1/2 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

1 cup whole milk

1/2 cup vegetable oil

2 large eggs

2 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water
For the Chocolate Ganache:

1 cup heavy cream

8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

2 tbsp unsalted butter
For the Chocolate Frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Make the Cake:

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round pans.

Sift flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl.

Add milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

Slowly stir in boiling water (batter will be thin).

Divide evenly into pans and bake 30–35 minutes.

Cool in pans 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks.
Make the Ganache:

Heat cream in a saucepan until it begins to simmer.

Pour over chopped chocolate, let sit 2–3 minutes.

Add butter, stir until smooth and glossy. Cool slightly.
Make the Frosting:

Beat softened butter until creamy.

Add powdered sugar and cocoa, mix well.

Add cream and vanilla, beat until fluffy.
Assemble the Cake:

Place one cake layer on a plate. Spread ganache over it.

Add the second layer, frost top and sides with chocolate frosting.
