Ingredients
-
2 tablespoons butter
-
1 tablespoon olive oil
-
8 ounces white mushrooms (whole or sliced)
-
2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1/2 cup heavy cream
-
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
-
2 ounces cream cheese, softened
-
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
-
Fresh chopped parsley (for garnish)
Instructions
-
Sauté the Mushrooms:
Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and garlic, sautéing until mushrooms are tender and fragrant, about 6–8 minutes. -
Make the Sauce:
Add heavy cream, parmesan cheese, and cream cheese to the skillet. Stir continuously until cheeses melt and sauce becomes smooth and creamy. -
Season:
Stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer gently for another 2–3 minutes, allowing flavors to meld and the sauce to thicken slightly. -
Garnish and Serve:
Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley over the top and serve hot as a side dish or over grilled meats, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
Notes
-
Cremini or baby bella mushrooms can be substituted for deeper flavor.
-
Add a splash of white wine before the cream for extra richness.
-
Can be made ahead and gently reheated on the stovetop.
