1 large loaf of Italian bread

1 lb (450g) thinly sliced beef

1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)

1 cup sliced onions

2 cups shredded provolone cheese

3 tablespoons garlic butter

Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). -
Prepare the Filling:
In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the beef with salt and pepper until browned.
Add sliced onions and bell peppers and cook until soft, about 5–7 minutes. Set aside. -
Prep the Bread:
Slice the top off the Italian bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving about 1/2-inch of bread on all sides.
Brush the inside with garlic butter. -
Assemble:
Layer half the shredded cheese into the bread.
Fill with the cooked beef, onions, and peppers mixture.
Top with remaining cheese. Replace the top of the loaf. -
Bake:
Wrap the stuffed loaf in foil and bake for 15–20 minutes.
Unwrap and bake uncovered for another 5–10 minutes until cheese is melted and bread is crisp. -
Serve:
Let cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
