3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
-
1/4 cup granulated sugar
-
2 1/4 teaspoons (1 packet) instant yeast
-
1/2 teaspoon salt
-
3/4 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
-
1 large egg
-
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling:
-
1 cup fresh blueberries (or thawed, drained frozen blueberries)
-
1/2 cup brown sugar
-
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
For the Cream Cheese Frosting:
-
4 oz cream cheese, softened
-
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
-
1 cup powdered sugar
-
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
-
Prepare the Dough:
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. In a separate bowl, mix warm milk, egg, and melted butter. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 6–8 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 30–45 minutes, until doubled in size. -
Assemble the Rolls:
Roll out the dough into a 12×18-inch rectangle. Spread softened butter over the dough, sprinkle evenly with brown sugar and cinnamon, and scatter blueberries over the surface. Roll the dough tightly from the long edge into a log and cut into 12 even slices. -
Bake:
Place rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Cover and let rise for another 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown. -
Make the Frosting:
Beat cream cheese and butter together until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until creamy and spreadable. -
Serve:
Spread the cream cheese frosting over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
Notes
-
If using frozen blueberries, ensure they are thawed and well-drained to avoid extra moisture.
-
For extra sweetness, drizzle a little glaze before the frosting.
-
Rolls can be prepped the night before and baked fresh in the morning.
